Saturday we did one of my favorite fall activities.
Pumpkin picking.
Going to a pumpkin patch is so much more fun than buying one at a grocery store out of
cardboard bin. It's an experience.
One I love to do with the kids every fall.
We ventured to Shady Knoll Pumpkin Patch near Hampton Illinois.
As soon as we got there the kids ran for the barns where there were animals for viewing.
We saw goats, sheep, cows, geese, and even a peacock.
Daddy led the crew through the pumpkin patch in search of the perfect pumpkins.
Some were too small, some were too big, some were too plain rotten, and some were JUST right.
Look at Daddy lift that with one arm.
What Muscles!! :-)
Last year, Lil Miss was just waddling through the pumpkin patch and we were trying to keep her on her own two feet and not her butt. This year she was running through the pumpkin patch.
{last year at the pumpkin patch -- what a difference a year makes!}
Oh and did I tell you there were cute little bunnies? We didn't go into the pen to play with them. It cost $2 each but that wasn't the problem. It was that the sign said No Squeezing Bunnies and No Chasing them -- that's all that my kids would have done. So to avoid any bad rule breaking we looked at them from afar.
I can cross Pumpkin Patch off of my Fall Bucket List.
Now I just have 20 more things to do including:
Carving Pumpkins
Jump in a Leaf Pile
Take a walk and collect cool fallen leaves
Drink Apple Cider
Eat anything pumpkin flavored ie.pumpkin ice cream, pumpkin pudding, pumpkin bread, etc.
and many many more.
One thing at a time.
